WEST CHESTER, PA. and PATERSON, NJ August 28, 2017 e4, a leading national provider of healthcare consulting and professional services, announces that it has been selected to provide professional services and support for the implementation of Cerner Millennium® electronic health record in St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, based in Paterson, NJ. This implementation will provide one chart, one record, and one system for patients receiving care within St. Joseph’s, supporting the world-class health organization’s mission, vision and core values.

To optimize the efficiency of the implementation, St. Joseph’s will utilize e4’s LEAN Engineering® software and methods – a constantly-evolving compendium of content, knowledge, and LEAN tools and tactics that accelerate complex programs and eliminate waste to reduce overall expenses. The e4 LEAN Engineering Playbook for Cerner Millennium® has been enhanced through multiple successful Cerner Millennium®, Epic, and Cerner Soarian conversion engagements e4 has driven.

“Our obsession with perfecting the science of program and change management using e4 LEAN Engineering® techniques applies directly to complex Electronic Medical Record projects such as the one St. Joseph’s has undertaken. We will ‘engineer’ the program in a way that reduces overall time and effort using LEAN thinking throughout,” said Niall Doherty, Cofounder and President of e4. “We will also be utilizing our proprietary Program and Change Management and Analytics software (e4caster) to ensure our LEAN Engineering playbooks are comprehensively executed with full transparency and accountability.”

St. Joseph’s is embarking on an era of technology-enabled health care in which patients, their families and the health care team will more easily connect. “Migrating to Cerner Millennium® represents a new milestone as we use digital healthcare technology to transform the delivery of care across the continuum,” said Linda Reed, Chief Information Officer, St. Joseph’s Healthcare System. “We look forward to using e4’s LEAN Engineering tools, tactics and complex change management expertise to achieve our migration and implementation goals to ensure a smooth transition for all employees, patients, caregivers and providers.”
